Monday October 27 – Monday, November 3rd – Coin Drive to Support UNICEF
Tuesday, October 28 – Interim superintendent Dr. Larry Nyland Meet & Greet at Northgate Community Center from 6-7 pm
Wednesday, October 29 – 2 hour early dismissal (school dismissed @ 12:50)
Thursday, October 30 – All John Rogers Lost & Found Donated to Nathan Hale                 Instrumental Music Clothing Drive     Please check for your child’s lost items in the cafeteria!
Friday, October 31 – Return form for International Walk/Bike to School Month
Saturday, November 1 – PTA Grants due for First of the Bi-Annual Allotments

Instrumental Music
Instrumental Music for Our 4th And 5th Graders to Begin on Monday, October 27th  We have a new, permanent instrumental music teacher who will begin on Monday, October 27th. Frank Seebeerger is excited to teach instrumental music at our school.  We will continue to have instrumental music on Mondays so please make sure your child is bringing their instrument every Monday.

Fall Garden Work Party
Thank you to those who attended the Fall Garden Work Party on Sunday October 19th. The gardens look great because of you!

John Rogers PTA Grant
The John Rogers PTA is excited to be able to grant up to $2,000 for the 2014/15 school year. Each grant request is limited to $200.  Parents and/or teachers are eligible to apply, plus multiple people may combine their requests to apply for grants in excess of $200.  Grant applications are reviewed twice yearly; in November ($1000) and March ($1,000).  Applications are available inside the main office, under the mailboxes.  Please submit them in the PTA box in the main office before November 1st.

Annual LGBT Families Dinner
The annual LGBT (lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender) Families Dinner will be held Thursday, Nov. 13th, from 6 to 8 p.m. at NOVA/World School (300 20th Ave E).  Members of the school board will attend to welcome LGBT families and their friends. All district families and staff are welcome to attend!  This donation-funded event is brought to you by the Health Education Office and the Office of School Family Partnerships.  Dinner and entertainment will be provided through community donations.  To reserve space at this popular event, please RSVP with the number of people in your party to Lisa Love in the Health Intervention Office at 252-0982 or llove@seattleschools.org.
