What is a PTA?
It’s a Parent Teacher Association… a group of teachers, parents, guardians, staff, and families discussing school matters! We have meetings throughout the year to answer questions, discuss school issues, let our voices be heard, and more! We fundraise and organize volunteers to supplement what the school and district provide to enrich our students’ experience at John Rogers. Attendance at meetings isn’t required & most will be online.
Our Mission and Vision:
As we navigate these extraordinary times, the mission of our PTA has never been more important: Building Community, Enriching Education, and Advocating for EVERY child. Together we will support this mission by giving direct help to our teachers, staff, and families. While these times can feel challenging, frustrating, and fear-filled, they are also an exciting opportunity to re-imagine how best to serve and engage our community in meaningful, relevant, and equitable ways.
Learn more about becoming a member here! We also post our minutes (notes) from our meetings, so you can always see what’s going on even if you can’t attend.
In short, we volunteer and fundraise to help support our students and our community. (Donating or volunteering are not required to be a member of the PTA.) We also offer grants for teachers and community members to provide extra resources and experiences for our students.
You can reach us at johnrogersPTA@gmail.com! Please reach out if you have any questions or want to talk about the PTA or ways you can get involved.
