Scholastic Books will be available for sale on the lunchroom stage (a Used Book Sale will take place concurrently but in the hallway outside the library) before, during and after school on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, with a family event scheduled to coincide with the PTA meeting taking place Thursday evening.   Volunteers for the Scholastic Book Fair are being recruited via email. If you’d like to help, please visit this link: www.SignUpGenius.com/go/10C0D49A9A929A7FF2-20141/22608778.   Complete details regarding the Scholastic and Used Book Fair will be forthcoming.

The John Rogers Used Book Sale is a great way to get books into the hands of all of our students. For only 25 cents, students (and parents!) can purchase gently-used but much-loved children’s and young adult books.  Got Books…  We rely completely on donations from our community.  If you have any used books that would be appropriate for the sale, please drop them off at school prior to Friday, November 14th.  Please note: we can ONLY accept children’s and young adult books (this means no adult fiction, no cook books, no reference or school books, nothing seriously out of date or in disrepair, etc. – thanks so much for understanding!).    Have a passion for books and want to help?  Please contact Laura Spring at 206-524-8865 or laura@springnet.org.  Happy reading!

John Rogers Food Bank
John Rogers maintains a food bank to provide emergency food support for our families as well as food boxes during extended school breaks including the upcoming Thanksgiving break in November.  Our food bank relies on donations from our community.   Please consider donating non perishable foods, grocery gift cards and hygiene items.  A donation bin is located in the front hall at school.    If you have questions about food bank donations or to volunteer, please contact Andrea Bergan at thebergans@comcast.net or (206) 817-1340.    If your family needs assistance, please contact our school counselor, Sheila Meagher or the the school office at (206) 252-4320.  Your request for assistance will remain confidential.     Thank you to all of our families that donated food during the Fall Festival!   John Rogers Otters are generous!
