Wednesday, October 22 – Science Bites: Geology of Mt. Rainier from 11:40-12:25pm
Friday, October 24 – Fall Spooktacular Festival and JRE Food Bank Drive from 6-7:30pm
Monday, October 27 – Monday, November 3rd – Coin Drive to Support UNICEF
Tuesday, October 28 – Interim Superintendent Dr. Larry Nyland Meet & Greet
at Northgate Community Center from 6-7pm
Wednesday, October 29 – Picture Retakes and 2 hour early dismissal
Friday, October 31 – Return form for International Walk/Bike to School Month

Fall Spooktacular Festival and Food Drive
Volunteers are still needed for this fun event! If you have or know a high school student that needs volunteer hours this is a great fun way to get them. Please sign up for volunteering on the bulletin board outside the office or contact Robin Goodman via email  (rgoody44@msn.com) or text message (206-295-7507) if you can help during the event or with clean up. Also needed, cupcakes for the CUPCAKE WALK! Please let Robin know if you will provide some delicious baked goods.
On the night of… kids are encouraged to wear costumes (dress like your favorite character from your favorite book!). Also, please bring canned food for the food drive. All donations go to benefit John Rogers Families!!

Coin Drive to Support UNICEF
Last Friday, at the School Spirit assembly Sylvia Stellmacher, Community Engagement Fellow from the U.S. Fund for UNICEF, spoke to our children about the work that UNICEF does around the world and at home. This assembly is the kick off to our school wide Coin Drive and Trick or Treat campaign to support UNICEF. The Coin Drive runs October 27 – November 3

October 16th PTA Meeting
Thank you to all the people who attended our meeting last week! The amended Budget for the 2014-2015 School Year was approved and copies will be available outside the office. We are looking for 1 or 2 more people to join the Budget Committee. Please contact our Treasurer Beth Sharlin at bsel99@hotmail.com if you are interested. Also, we need brave and motivated people to lead our auction committee next year please take this opportunity to learn from the current auction chairs (Melissa Blumhagen and Laura Teeuw)!
