Other Important Community Dates:

May 8-12, Teacher Appreciation Week

The John Rogers PTA invites you to show appreciation for our amazing teachers and the many awesome support staff in any of these two ways:

  • Help your student make a card for their classroom teacher and at least one other support staff member. Cards can be given to the teacher directly or left in the office for other staff members any day next week. Cards or emails from parents/caregivers are also always appreciated.
  • Stock the staff lounge by bringing a store-bought breakfast item, dessert, snack, or drink. Use this Signup Genius and sign up for specific items as soon as possible. Drop off goods in the red wagon in front of the school during morning drop-off on any day between May 8-12. A volunteer will bring the wagon goods into the staff lounge after school starts each morning May 8 through May 12. You can also bring goods to the office if you’re dropping off at another time of day.

May 12, 6-7:30 pm: STEM Night

  • All families are invited to join us for STEM Night. Please mark your calendars! We will have fun, interactive STEM exhibits with community presenters which include exhibits from last year and some new exhibits as well.

  • WE NEED PARENT VOLUNTEERS for setup/teardown and also to potentially help us run/supervise 1 or 2 exhibits that we will provide supplies and instructions for. We are also still trying to recruit for new exhibits! If you have ideas you would like to share, contacts in the community you would like us to reach out to or are interested in running your own exhibit please reach out to Brian, Vanessa, or Tess on the STEM committee (emails below). Last year Jesse (JRE 1st and 3rd grade parent) knocked it out the park with his can crushing experiment and we would love to see more creative ideas from within our own community!
