It’s Show Time!!!
Rogers’ students, it’s time to get those amazing talents ready to share!  Do you love to jump rope, juggle, tumble, hula hoop, dance, sing, rap, tell jokes, do magic, lip synch, put on skits, play an instrument, recite a poem, or anything else you can safely do on stage?  If so, you can prepare a 2 or 3-minute presentation alone or with a group and show us what you can do. Please bring this note back signed by a parent or guardian by Friday, January 16th and you can sign up for a time to audition.  You will either be chosen to share your act in a mini show for your grade level or you will be invited to perform in the big show on  Friday, March 13th.

Auction Committee Meeting!  Come One, Come All!!!

** We will be discussing all things Auction!** Themes Decorations Procurement Class projects  We will be looking for volunteers to head up mini-committees, so if you are interested in leading or helping on a committee or the auction, but can’t make the meeting; contact Melissa Blumhagen mblumgahen7@gmail.com.  We are also accepting donations or if you know of anyone who would like to donate something, please feel free to contact Laura Teeuw laurateeuw@gmail.com.  It definitely takes many helping hands to make our auction a successful event; we are looking forward to seeing you on January 22nd!

Homework Help at the Northgate and Lake City Library Branches
Mondays – Thursdays, 4:30-7:30 p.m.  Do your kids need more help with their homework?  Are you both getting frustrated by the new way kids are learning math? Check out our Homework Help!  Volunteers are there to help kids with any Homework they’ve got!

Upcoming Open Library event in the John Rogers Library: Thursday, January 22nd, 3-6 pm.  We’ll be preparing for Lunar New Year, and will have a trunk of Chinese artifacts from the Seattle Art Museum.

After School Enrichment Program
Thanks to Seattle Parks and Recreation, there have been enrichment programs on site after school.  Please register your child directly with Meadowbrook Community Center or online through SPARC as instructed in the form.  Details about Winter 2015 Enrichment Program are included with this Newsletter.  Although the school has been forwarding registration forms and checks to the community center as a courtesy, we are not responsible for any losses.  Thank you.

3rd- 5th Grade Ensemble at Wedgwood Drama Studio
Our 3rd-5th Grade Ensemble class is an acting class that focuses on how actors work together to develop characters and tell dramatic stories. We'll use games, movement, music and improvisation to explore both written and original characters and stories. The class welcomes students from our after school drama programs in neighborhood schools as well as new students interested in a safe and supportive environment to try something new! North Seattle Baseball Registration is now open!
Get outdoors this spring and join our baseball community which serves boys and girls ages 4-18.  Our younger divisions play “buddy baseball” where you can request your preferred team/coach/teammates/schoolmates.  Our older divisions are competitive and prepare athletes for high school ball with advanced Pony rules.  Practices start in March; games go through the end of the school year and take place in NE Seattle Meadowbrook/Wedgwood area fields.  Teams will be formed in late January/early February so sign up soon!    You can register and find out more information at www.northseattlebaseball.org.

Attention Hopeful Skiers!!

Free ski helmets available for children at least 4 years old to age 18 from Seattle Children’s Hospital. One helmet per child. Wearers must be present and be fitted to receive a helmet. Quantities are limited. First come, first served. No appointments needed.
