SPS March 25 Family Update: Return to In-Person Instruction

Dear Families of Students in Elementary and K-8 Schools:

Last night, the school board approved bell times for elementary and K-8 schools. School will begin at 8 a.m. and end at 2:30 p.m. for students in both the remote and hybrid, in-person (part-time in person and part-time remote) models.

This change will take place on Monday, March 29 for all elementary and K-8 students and continue through the end of this school year.

In-Person and Remote Bell Schedule: 8 a.m. – 2:30 p.m.

Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday (in person, if selected)

Morning block: 8 a.m. – 10:45 a.m.
Afternoon block: 11:45 a.m. – 2:30 p.m.
Wednesdays all students will be remote, 8 a.m. – 1:15 p.m.

This change does not include 6-8th grade students at comprehensive middle schools. Comprehensive middle schools will continue to start at 9 a.m. Learn why a bell time change was recommended. As a reminder, all K-5 students will have asynchronous learning on March 29-31 as teachers prepare to switch to in-person teaching or to teach new classes of students who will be staying remote.
