SUPERINTENDENT’S REOPENING PLAN TASK FORCE Seattle Public Schools is recruiting students, families, and community members for the Superintendent’s Reopening Plan Task Force for the 2020-21 school year. The task force will monitor the progress, implementation, and effectiveness of the remote learning model and advise the Board and superintendent on possible revisions and continuous improvement. Seattle Public Schools has extended the Student Verification Form window until October 8. Our district and school-based communication tools are dependent on the accuracy of data retrieved from this form. If phone numbers, emails, and primary contact information isn’t reviewed and updated annually we can’t ensure we are reaching all families with critical information. . JOHN ROGERS LIBRARY CURBSIDE PICKUP: 10/8 FROM 4:00 TO 5:00 pm.

Watch the video in Seesaw and/or look at the attached pdf for support – books must be placed on hold by 3:00 PM the day before pick up. How many books can students hold? 5 books; How many books can students checkout? 3 books: How do I know if my book is ready for pickup? Mrs. Burke will send an email to the student AND parent email on file; 1 of the 3 books can be a graphic novel; 1 of the 3 books can be a book from a series; Kindergarten will be delayed a few weeks to teach book care lesson; How do I return a book? There will be a book bin placed outside the building from approx. 9-3pm M-F. When you are finished reading your book, place it in the bin! You can also bring your books at the curbside pickup. DRIVE-THRU FALL FESTIVAL! Friday 10/30 from 5pm-6:30pm (details to come), drive (walk if you need) to the school. Stay in your car and wearing your mask to receive grab ‘n go tricks and treats and festive Otter spirit!  Free family Fall Festival fun, drive-thru 2020 style. Further details to come. VOLUNTEERS NEEDED FOR THE JOHN ROGERS ART DOCENT PROGRAM! Help bring art to our Otters this year by visiting a class virtually once a month to lead an art project with students. VOLUNTEER AS A CLASSROOM RAFT CAPTAIN The Family Connections Team is seeking classroom volunteers to be Raft Captains (similar to the former room parent role). Raft Captains help communicate school, community and classroom information to families in the classroom. This helpful role can be communicated via email at a time that suits your busy schedule.
