Weekly PTA message Sept. 26

Hello John Rogers Families,

A huge THANK YOU to the John Rogers’ staff and families who made this week so successful! More than 40 fabulous volunteers and the weather cooperated to make for another great Move-a-Thon…we raised $12,523 and our students walked 7,755 laps.  WOW! Curriculum night was well attended and provided a wonderful opportunity for families to see the amazing people that educate our children each day.

This week’s announcements:

Swim Program
Swimming Session I (4th& 5th Graders) begins on October 3rd.  Please return your permission slips! Volunteers are still needed to walk with the classes and instruct in the pool.  Please follow this link to access the Seattle Public Schools volunteering requirements: http://bit.ly/SPS-Volunteering

Lost and Found
The school lost and found is already overflowing!  Please stop into the cafeteria and claim your child’s lost items.

A message about the crosswalk at NE 110th and 40th Ave NE:
We have been unable to recruit enough volunteers to staff this crosswalk.

If you are a family that crosses at this location regularly – Are you willing to volunteer here one shift/week? We still have Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday afternoons available as well as Thursday mornings. Shift times are 8:20-8:45 and 2:45-3:10.

When no volunteer is present, families crossing at this location are encouraged to use caution and to take advantage of our new flags which help oncoming cars to see you.
