Friday, March 6 – Movie Night (6-8) & Bake Sale (5:30) Attend and help send the 4th Grade to Horse Camp!  Movie: Big Hero 6   Suggested Family Donation: $10.00
Bring extra $$$ for the yummy baked goods!
March 16 – 11:40-12:30 – Science Bites @ Lunch/Lunch Recess – Topic: Chemistry
5-9 PM – Dine out at the RAM @ University Village to support John Rogers PTA!
March 20 – Pacific Science Center Van @ John Rogers
April 9 – Family Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) Night @ John Rogers
May 9 – Save the Date! John Rogers’ Auction…Havana Nights.

 

Headphone Drive
Coming up in March our 3rd-5th graders will begin taking the Smarter Balanced Assessment Consortium.  Part of this assessment includes use of headphones.  While our school does have a class set of new headphones that we will be using we are in need of more.  If you have a pair of clean, working headphones that could fit the heads of 3rd-5th graders and that you are no longer using we would love it if you would consider donating them to our school.  We will have a donation box located in our office where you can donate the headphones.  Thank you.

PTA Spring Grants
The John Rogers’ PTA is excited to be able to grant up to $2,000 for the 2014-15 school year…$1,000 was awarded in November and it is now time for the spring grant. As a reminder, grant requests are limited to $200, but multiple people (staff member or parents) may combine their requests for grants in excess of $200.  Requests must be submitted in writing to the PTA mailbox in the main office by 3:00 PM on Monday, March 2nd.   Applications are available inside the main office under the mailboxes.

Dine out to Support John Rogers’ PTA!
Monday March 16th from 5-9 PM  Gather your friends, family and neighbors to help support our school!  The University Village RAM will donate 10% of their sales generated from 5-9 PM to the John Rogers PTA.  Hope to see you all there!

HIP Packing Party
Come join us for the HIP Packing Party! Thursday, March 5 from 3:15 – 5:00 PM @ Lake City Presbyterian Church (3841 NE 123rd St) Help us pack up Healthy HIP Packs for the next month.  All ages welcome!

Annual Auction &Dinner
May 9th, 2015 @ the Lake City Presbyterian Church “Havana Nights”  WE NEED DONATIONS!  Without donations, guests at the auction will not have anything to bid on.  We’re looking for quality over quantity, but will take NEW items of all sizes! Contact your neighbors, friends and family – anyone you can think of that may have something to donate or have a connection to a fun and unique experience that would make a great auction item.  Read through the Procurement Q&A in the auction packet for more ideas.  Donations are due by March 27th!
AUCTION PROCUREMENT PRIZE DRAWING: Procure an item for our auction, and your child will be entered to win one of four exciting experiences with our teaching staff!  Drawing details are in the blue Auction Packet.  Drawing will be held on March 31st!

WINE! WINE! WINE!
Wine is needed for the upcoming auction as part of the wine toss event and dinner. You can donate individual bottles or cases or something in between.  Wine toss item values range from under $10 – $30+ If you or someone you know is interested in donating or you have questions please let me know.  Wine can be dropped off at school in the office or contact me to arrange pick-up/drop-off. Homework Help at the Northgate and Lake City Library Branches
Monday – Thursday, 4:30-7:30 pm  Do your kids need more help with their homework? Are you both getting frustrated by the new way kids are learning math? Check out our Homework Help!  Volunteers are there to help kids with any Homework they’ve got!
