BOUNDARY CHANGE MEETING
Tuesday, February 2 at 6:30 PM in the John Rogers cafeteria, Child care provided
The boundaries for the John Rogers attendance area are set to change for the 2017 school year. This change will affect many of our current families as well as our neighbors at Olympic Hills Elementary and Cedar Park Elementary (to open in 2017). John Rogers could be impacted directly through displaced teachers, reduction in support staff and support services. It appears approximately three out of ten families would be reassigned due to the boundary change with no consideration for grandfathering in current students. The boundary change will assign a disproportionally high number of low income students at Cedar Park, as a brand new elementary.
Flip Herndon, Associate Superintendent of Capital Facilities and Ashley Davies, Director of Enrollment and Planning, from the Seattle School District will be present to provide information about the upcoming change and to answer questions from our community.

John Rogers Art Walk and Family Dinner
What: It’s a celebration of arts at our school! There will be art activities, displays of our children’s art and local artists.

PTA 2016-2017 Budget Planning
Do you have an idea or suggestion for programs, projects, events, or materials that you would like the PTA to support?
The PTA Budget Committee will be meeting soon to work on the 2016-17 PTA budget. If you have an idea or suggestion for the PTA to support, you can submit a request for funding to the budget committee. A PTA budget request form is available in the office for proposals. All requests will be reviewed by the budget committee and considered in with our review of our current items and forecasted revenue.
