June 2nd – 7 – 7:30 – Parent Education Night with Ms. Paolone – “Keeping Math fresh over the summer” 7:30 – 8 – Volunteer Recognition & Outstanding Teacher Award. Cookies to follow! All Families Welcome!!!
June 11th – Field Day
June 15th – 5th Grade Graduation Assembly
June 16th – Last Day of School – 1 hour early dismissal @ 1:50

Traffic Safety
This is a courtesy reminder about traffic safety around our school. Please follow the patrol people’s directions and move your car when needed to ensure the safety of our students and families. It is very important!

The Used Book Sale is Back!
Just in time to get books for summer vacation, the John Rogers Used Book Sale is back.  The sale will be held the week of June 1st and books will be available for purchase before school, during lunch and after school in the hallway outside the library.  As always, all books are only 25 cents.
We currently have enough books for this sale and don’t need any more donations (but hold on to your gently l

Levy Community Meeting
Seattle Public Schools is hosting a community meeting to share information, receive comments and answer questions about our upcoming Operations Levy and Buildings, Technology, Academics/Athletics IV (BTA IV) Capital Levy, to be submitted to Seattle voters in February 2016.

The meeting will take place on Tuesday, June 2nd in the John Stanford Center Auditorium, 2445 Third Avenue South; from 6:30-8:00 p.m.

JRE Lost and Found
The John Rogers’ lost and found is over flowing!!! Please take the time to look through the items for your lost belongings.

JAMS 6th Grade Ice Cream Social
June 3rd, 6:30 – 8 pm
All incoming JAMS 6th graders are invited to an ice cream social on Wednesday, June 3rd from 6:30-8:00 p.m.  The students will have a chance to meet future classmates, learn more about JAMS and eat some ice cream.  Parents are welcome to drop off their student or stay for an optional parent information session.

Opportunity for girls interested in STEM/STEAM
Girls between the ages of 6 and 18 are invited to participate in Go, Girl, Go!, an all-female Q&A panel sponsored by FIRST, Washington FIRST Robotics, IEEE, and ICRA. This is a chance to speak and network with local and international female STEM and STEAM professionals and learn more about the world of science and technology. Free to attend, girls can stay all day or for just portion. Lots of fun activities are planned for girls to spark their curiosity and imagination in the world of science, technology, engineering, the arts and math.

When: Saturday, May 30, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Where: Washington State Convention Center, Seattle
Who: All girls between the ages of 6-18
Cost: Free

“Leftovers” from the Nathan Hale Plant Sale
Free tomato, pepper and some fuchsia and eggplants remain from the Nathan Hale Plant Sale.  They are sitting outside the fence of the greenhouse above JAMS.  Take what you want but please leave the flats behind…bring along boxes for the plants.  Also, pots can be returned by leaving them outside the greenhouse gate.
