Congratulations on another great year at John Rogers!

As we are all heading out for the summer break, here are a few fun John Rogers Summer Events to add to your calendar.

John Rogers Summer Play dates:

Wednesday, July 6, 6:30-7:30 pm

Saturday, July 30, 10-11 am

Tuesday, August 16, 10-11 am

Come to the playground to meet new friends and connect with old ones! All incoming and returning families are welcome. Children must attend with an adult.

Kindergarten Jump Start:

August 22nd-26th 9:00 am – 12 pm each day

This free transition program, available to all incoming John Rogers kindergarteners, allows kindergarteners to become familiar with the school and begin learning some new routines.


Fourth Annual John Rogers Meet and Greet:

Wednesday, August 31st 5:30pm – 6:15pm

In addition to finding out who will be your child’s teacher for the 2016/17 school year, the John Rogers PTA will be sponsoring a potluck BBQ on the school playground from 5:30-7:00pm. Families are invited to bring something to share!

Last Name (A-J) – Fruit or Veggies

Last Name (K-O) – Chips

Last Name (P-S) – Dessert

Last Name (T-Z) – Drinks

John Rogers RUMMAGE SALE – Oct. 3

John Rogers Rummage Sale

Saturday, October 3rd – 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM in the school cafeteria
All proceeds benefit the John Rogers Elementary PTA.
Furniture, clothes, household goods, books, toys, games, sporting goods and so much more.

Come shop for treasures and support the PTA!

Volunteers are needed for set up on Friday 10/2 beginning at 3:00 PM and during the sale on Saturday.

Kindergarten Tour Dates!

Prospective John Rogers families are invited to attend a tour of our school. You’ll have the opportunity to meet our principal, see inside our classrooms and hear about our school from current parents. Tours begin at 9:30 AM – meet outside the office just inside the main entrance.

Tours will be held on three consecutive Wednesdays – January 29, February 5 and February 12 beginning at 9:30 AM.

PJ Night in the Library!

November 19th, 6:30 to 8:00 p.m.

PJ Night in the Library will coincide with our monthly PTA meeting (7:00 to  8:00 p.m., November 19th), as well as our annual Fall Book Fair. Planned  activities include story time, crafts, games, and a used-book sale. Kids  may come in their PJs and settle in for a cozy evening while adults visit  the Book Fair and participate in the PTA meeting. (The Book Fair will be  open from 8:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m., Tuesday 11/19 through Thursday 11/21 –  and also from 5:30 to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, 11/19.) Come one, come all!  Questions or concerns? “Meet and Greet” at John Rogers

August 29th from 6:00 – 7:00 PM

All John Rogers families are welcome to drop-in during this hour to find out who your teacher will be and check out your new classroom. The PTA will also have information available about volunteer opportunities, fundraising and membership.
